Legends of Slots

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Legends of Slots turned out to be a lot more relaxed than its name made me expect. At its core it's a symbol-matching puzzle: you tap to spin a set of reels, then arrange and chain the icons that land to clear objectives on each board. The further you go, the more the boards layer in little rules, like locked tiles you free by matching around them.

Controls are entirely one-handed, which is why it became my go-to on short bus rides. Everything happens with taps and the occasional swipe, and the game never nags you to connect anywhere. I played the whole first chapter in airplane mode without a single interruption, which is exactly what I want from an offline title.

What stuck with me is the pacing. Each themed world has a tidy progression of goals, and the art gets a bit more playful as you advance through ancient temples, frost caverns and a surprisingly charming pirate cove. It's not deep strategy, but it's a satisfying little loop to chip away at.
